Stopped in about 3 weeks ago on my way up to Lake Hamilton... just north of Malvern proper on way to Hot Springs...I was coming from a different direction than the folks I was meeting and figured I'd better get some grub cause I knew they had stopped and ate around Arkadelphia/Caddo Valley... So I was keeping an eye out and when I saw this decrepit, weather beaten, run down looking shack with an assload of Harleys and beat up pickups parked in a gravel lot I knew I had found Xanadu...so I tapped the brakes, cut a hard right and whipped up a cloud of dust sliding to a stop... That's when I noticed they had a lounge attached to this BBQ joint and I thought "Now this looks like a place to drank!" Walked in to the eating side and that delicious BBQ smell made me a little weak in the knees...ordered up the Rib plate (3 massive ribs) and double slaw with a slice of white bread...that rib meat just fell off the bone...the slaw was vinegary and every damn bite was freakin' delicious!!! Took 2 damp hand towels to clean my slathered-in-sauce country ass up...cause I dove in head first!! Don't let the looks fool you this is one kick ass BBQ joint...inside is tiny but clean and the grub is top notch...I find myself in the Hot Springs area again I'll be making the jaunt here for some delectable BBQ and maybe even stay for a cocktail or 2...

Great local BBQ! Only 4.5 miles from my house and they cole slaw is spectacular! Another plus the deviled eggs rock:)

I'm from the Delta, in the northeast corner. Much better charcoal cooked bbq there. This was weird tasting and had a "whang". I couldn't choke the beans down. Too tangy. Pork sandwich was bland. Ribs were huge and great, except drowned in weird tasting sauce. Fried pies were excellent. Yankees or locals will probably love this, but people from near Memphis... No way. Very friendly place, though.

I've been a fan of Midway's BBQ since the 1980's. 1) Consistently great Q down through the years ( if you're into great smoked meats and the sweet/tangy style sauce:) 2) Always great speedy service with a smile and a thank you. 3) Reasonably priced. 4) I'm salivating by just writing or talking about Midway BBQ and my only choice for Q since Purity is no longer in business. So in my opinion, its the only place to get Q around the Hot Springs-Jones Mill-Malvern area. And if you're on I-30 sometime wanting Q...its not that far off the interstate for a really great Q meal:) 5) Just wish I had a menu to post for everyone. Sorry. I'll post one next time.

This place has all the signs of being terrible but it ends up being surprisingly good. Every time I go in the place I wonder if I made the right choice, but the BBQ is really good. It is connected to a dive bar and therefore they have a sign saying no children allowed in the restaurant, but they've never kicked my son out. The menu is odd and reminds me of family get-togethers serving: deviled eggs, sweet potatoes, and stuff like that. You can get beef or pork. They have a drive-thru as well.
